📝 学习建议
  • 先把它和美式拼写视为同一个词,不要误以为两者意义不同;学习时先掌握“灵活移动或安排的一步”,再扩展到动词。
📖 中文释义
noun
  • core 灵活的一步;策略动作
    📖 它像司机绕开障碍时完成的一次巧妙动作,也可以指为了达到目的而采取的一步策略;重点是动作或安排具有灵活性和目的性。
    💡 常用句型是“make a manoeuvre”或“a manoeuvre around/into something”。谈车辆时常指转向、绕行等动作,谈抽象事务时常指策略性的一步;不要把它只限于军事语境,也不要把它当作不可数名词使用。
The driver made a careful manoeuvre around the parked car.

manoeuvres plural
verb
  • core 灵活操控;设法移动
    📖 它描写像在窄小空间里打方向那样,有意识地、灵活地移动或操控人和物,使其到达想要的位置。
    💡 常用句型是“manoeuvre the vehicle into a space”或“manoeuvre around an obstacle”。带宾语时强调操控某物,不带宾语时则强调主体自己移动;不要误用成普通的“走”或“移动”,因为这个词通常含有小心调整或设法完成的意味。

🌳 词源
词源上与“用手工作”有关,后来发展出“灵活操控、安排动作”的意思。
From Middle French manœuvre (“manipulation, manoeuvre”) and manouvrer (“to manoeuvre”), from Old French manovre (“handwork, manual labour”), from Medieval Latin manopera, manuopera (“work done by hand, handwork”), from manu (“by hand”) + operari (“to work”). First recorded in the Capitularies of Charlemagne (800 AD) to mean "chore, manual task", probably as a calque of the Frankish *handwerc (“hand-work”). Compare Old English handweorc, Old English handġeweorc, German Handwerk.
