ass
★★
🇺🇸 /ˈæs/
adj
-
common 很差;糟透了📖 在北美粗俗口语中,形容某事物质量差、表现差或令人失望,相当于“很烂”。💡 常用模式是“something is ass”或“that was ass”。这是不可比较的俚语形容词,主要见于随意口语和网络表达。不要在正式、礼貌或工作场合使用;它不是表示“像驴一样”的普通形容词。US not-comparable slang vulgarThat movie was ass.那部电影烂透了。
noun
-
core 驴📖 一种像马的驮运动物,尤其指家驴;这是这个词最直接、最中性的本义。💡 通常用“an ass”或“a/the ass”指一头驴,也可以用复数形式。现代英语里 donkey 更常见,因此 ass 在动物义上有时带有较书面、古旧或特定语境色彩。不要因为它还有粗俗义,就把动物义本身理解成骂人。The farmer loaded the ass with sacks of grain.农夫把几袋粮食放在驴背上。An ass can carry heavy loads over rough ground.驴能驮着重物走过崎岖的地面。
-
core 蠢人;讨厌的人📖 借驴固执、迟钝的形象,指一个愚蠢、粗鲁、无体谅或令人讨厌的人。💡 常见模式是“a/that + ass”或“you’re an ass”。这是对人的侮辱,虽然朋友之间有时会半开玩笑使用,但仍可能冒犯对方。不要把它当作中性的“人”或简单的“家伙”;具体语气要看上下文和双方关系。Don't be an ass—she's already having a difficult day.别这么讨厌——她今天已经够难受了。I was an ass for ignoring your message.我没理你的消息,真是太不应该了。
-
rare 排字工人📖 在旧式印刷行业俚语中,指排字工人;这是过时的行业用法,可看作从“蠢人”的骂称扩展而来。💡 只会在历史性的印刷资料或旧文献中见到,不能用来称呼现代排字或出版从业者。现代语境应使用明确的职业名称。不要把它和驴的动物义或北美粗俗身体义混淆。obsolete slang

plural
noun
-
common 臀部📖 在北美粗俗口语中指人的臀部,常把身体部位说得很直接、很不礼貌。💡 常见模式是“sit on your ass”或“get off your ass”。这是可数或不可数的粗俗名词,正式或礼貌场合应改用中性的身体部位说法。不要在普通对话中随便把它当作“屁股”的默认词,因为它可能显得冒犯。US countable slang uncountable vulgarGet your ass off the couch and help me move this table.别窝在沙发上了,起来帮我搬这张桌子。
-
rare 肛门📖 在粗俗的成人语境中指肛门,是明确的身体部位义。💡 通常出现在医学之外的粗俗或性语境中,不能当作中性医学术语使用。涉及健康、医疗或正式说明时,应使用规范的解剖学名称。不要因为它也能指臀部,就在所有身体语境中随意互换。US countable slang uncountable vulgar
-
rare 性行为;性对象📖 粗俗成人口语中可指性行为,或把某人仅仅当作性对象来称呼;这种用法带有明显的物化意味。💡 常见模式包括“get some ass”,但这是非常粗俗且可能冒犯人的表达。它不适合正式、礼貌或尊重他人的语境,也不等同于中性的“发生性关系”。理解影视或网络内容即可,不建议主动使用。US slang uncountable vulgar
-
common 糟糕得像什么一样📖 用于比喻某种状态很差、很难受或令人不快,例如身体感觉不好或事情进行得很糟。💡 常见模式是“feel like ass”或“be like ass”。这是北美粗俗俚语,通常用于随意谈话,不能理解为字面上的“像一头驴”。正式表达应改用“feel terrible”等中性说法。US slang uncountable vulgarI feel like ass after staying up all night.我熬了一夜,现在难受极了。
-
common 某人本人;自己📖 粗俗口语中可把某人的身体、本人或自身处境整体称为“ass”,常带有强调、催促或戏谑语气。💡 常见模式是“your/my/his + ass”,如“get your ass moving”或“save your ass”。它通常不能单独替代普通的“人”或“自己”,而是附在物主代词后加强语气。该用法粗俗,有时是玩笑,有时则明显具有威胁或侮辱意味。US countable slang vulgarYou'd better get your ass home before dark.你最好在天黑前赶紧回家。

rare 精氨酸琥珀酸合成酶📖 生物化学中对精氨酸琥珀酸合成酶这一名称的首字母缩写,指一种相关酶。💡 通常以全大写形式出现,并在生物化学、分子生物学或医学上下文中使用。第一次出现时常会先写出全称再给出缩写;不要把大写缩写和普通小写单词混读。abbreviation alt-of initialism
-
rare 抗合成酶综合征📖 医学中对抗合成酶综合征这一疾病名称的首字母缩写。💡 通常只在医学或风湿病学资料中使用,具体含义要结合同段的疾病背景判断。它一般写成大写缩写,不能根据普通英语词义猜测。面向普通读者的文本通常会同时提供全称。abbreviation alt-of initialism

🌳 词源
动物义来自拉丁语,原指驴;“愚蠢的人”源于驴被认为固执迟钝的形象。北美的粗俗义是 arse 的变体,并非后来有意制造的委婉说法。
Variant of arse; used chiefly in North America. Ultimately from Middle English ars, ers, from Old English ærs, ears, from Proto-West Germanic *ars, from Proto-Germanic *arsaz (compare Old High German ars (German Arsch), Old Norse ars, Old Frisian ers), from Proto-Indo-European *h₁órsos (compare Ancient Greek ὄρρος (órrhos)).
Etymological notes
Contrary to the widespread belief of this being a euphemism, it arose as a pronunciation spelling (of the older form arse still used in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc.) that shows the assimilation of /ɹ/ before coronal consonants (especially /s/), a phenomenon that has been present in nonstandard speech from the Middle English period onwards; this is distinct from the later phenomenon of non-rhoticity as /ɹ/ was lost before it could modify the preceding vowel. Other instances of this phenomenon (some of which retained both spellings with different meanings) include cuss from curse, gash from garsh, bass (“fish”) from barse, bust from burst, passel from parcel; see :Category:English terms with assimilation of historic /ɹ/ for a more extensive list.
